Sir Bors is usually talked of in Arthurian Legend as Sir Bors is usually talked of in Arthurian Legend as King Bors. Sir Bors had a brother, Lionel, and they were very crazy when they were young. Bors and his brother served Claudis for many years as children, but one night rebelled against him and killed Claudis’ son, Dorin. As Sir Bors and his brother were running away, they were saved by a servant of the Lady of the Lake. Since they were so little, they were sent to their cousin’s house, Lancelot.
Growing up together, Sir Bors, Lancelot, and Lionel became great knights in their own right. Their success brought them to Camelot and to King Arthur. Sir Bors is extremely recognizable by the predominate scar on his forehead. Sir Bors is always fighting for King Arthur on every battle. Even though his tough exterior wouldn’t show it or even his blood-thirsty rages during battles, Sir
Bors is seen as one of the Round Table’s Finest. He upholds the Code of Chivalry in every way, shape, and form. Bors has many trials to uphold the Code. A lady approaches him and says, “I will kill myself if you don’t sleep with me” (Romantic right?) Sir Bors refuses that offer. The lady and her maidens that show up say they will jump off the building if he doesn’t sleep with them. Sir Bors says no again. As the ladies jump off the building, they show their true identities as demons trying to take advantage of his compassion. If that wasn’t bad enough Sir Bors has another test of the Code. Sir Bors can either save his brother, Lionel, or save a young lady that has been kidnapped. Sir Bors of course chooses to save the young lady, but prays for his brother’s safety. Sir Bors saves the woman and his brother, Lionel, escapes his captures and then Lionel tries to kill Bors. Sir Bors being a good-hearted man did not raise his
weapon upon his brother. Knights ran to the aid of Sir Bors was slain by Lionel. As Lionel was inches away from killing his brother in the fit of rage that they both shared, God struck down Lionel in a column of fire. Later on in life, Sir Bors, Sir Galahad, and Sir Percival achieve the Holy Grail and protect it all the way until they reach the Sarras, a mystical island in the Middle East. Also like King Arthur himself, Bors was tricked into sleeping with a woman too. The daughter of King Brandegoris uses a magic ring to trick Bors into sleeping with her. Sir Bors becomes the father of Sir Elyan the White after being tricked by King Brandegoris’ daughter. Sir Elyan the White was introduced after many years of training and learning into the Round Table by his father Sir Bors.
